Man, keeping up with a blog is certainly more difficult than I had initially anticipated. I'm not sure if this is just because I'm seldom home at night or during the day, except for those few hours when I'm tossing out zzzzs.
This week it seems like I've been going on double-speed. I don't know if anyone else has these weeks when they've been so incredibly busy that they don't know whether they're coming or going, but then at the end of the week can't remember what exactly they did at the end of it. This is that week for me. I've been knee deep in Elizabethan England for tutoring, reading Aunt Dimity books for fun, and starting upon the biography of Malcolm X, and "The People's History of America" at Batboy's recommendation. Also this week is class on helping kids cope with Natural Disasters and Science experiments. Whew.
In between all that I'm still trying to add more to the Bookstore Central book, and am scribbling down all the great ideas that pop up at work. It's interesting commiting to writing because often the biggest commitment of all. At least for me, life seems to be a grand juggling act, and the first skill I really have to learn is how to get my own focus together. So, here's a renewed commitment to the collective blogisphere, and *fingers crossed* some more writing in general.

yeah, it takes a while to get into the rhythm, but then it becomes easier. it's good practice for training your mind to sit down and get to work without all the wishy-washy bits that preceed writing a piece -- you know, when you stare at a blank screen and hem and haw for 25 minutes before actually pressing any keys. (you know it's bad if your monitor goes on screen saver before you've started!)
i've also found that regular blogging has helped me to "find my voice" and identify other people's voices/styles as well. It's excellent training ground. It doesn't matter what you write at first, just that you do write.

Hey Ezri
Been reading your latest updates although I think commenting on this slightly-older-than-current-one is still acceptable!
Sorry I havent replied to your FB message yet... been busy!
I think finding your focus is an extremely useful thing to do... I am trying to find mine, PhD, job, tramp, theya re all difficult choices... I mean I really look forward to sitting underneath a bridge at the end of a long day drinking the £2/litre vodka out of a brown paper bag. But hey! I also like sipping G&T's with a dash of lime with friends.
Will email at some point.
luv
